Das FASS57 wurde 1957 in den Schweizer Militärdienst übernommen und 1990 durch die leichtere Version 550 oder FASS90 ersetzt, obwohl einige Reservisten es aufgrund seiner hohen Qualität noch mehrere Jahre lang verwendeten.
